Chocolate Anyone?

CHOCOLATE FACE
A little late, I know, but we finally opened up the last and much coveted Godiva chocolate bunny that my MIL gave the boys for Easter. JT and I, both, had of course already eaten ours but JW's & hubby's were still unopened and so hubby wanted a bite of something sweet. In keeping with tradition (albeit a few weeks late) we let JW, the baby, have his first bite of Easter bunny ears. He LOVED it - as you can tell from the photos. Not only was this his first chocolate bunny but also his first taste of chocolate. He laughed and sucked down every last morsel of those bunny ears and didn't drop or waste a single messy bit.
Gotta love it!

Scoop

SCOOP
Last week hubby was on vacation and we had to rent a backhoe to dig up our backyard to re-do our septic system. (oh what fun.)
JT(our 3 yr old) however, was very excited that "Scoop" would be personally coming to our house. (For those of you that don't know, "Scoop" is the name of the backhoe featured in one of JT's favorite cartoons, Bob The Builder)
Friday night the giant beast of a thing arrived and the minute it pulled into our driveway to be unloaded "J" started screaming "Scoop's here!!! Scoops here!!!!!!" while running at full speed around the house to the window to watch it be unloaded.
While he was excited it was here he was also deathly afraid of it.
We told him he could climb up on it and sit w/Dad but that was a big NO. Finally after much convincing and the handing over of the key to me JT finally decided to get on board. But...not for long - still a little too scary. The next day hubby was finishing up with leveling the yard out and we finally talked JT into getting on - then Dad turned the key and JT was hooked! He stayed on "Scoop" for 30 minutes helping to dig up stuff and I got some great photos out of it. How darn cute are they!

HAPPY 6th ANNIVERSARY!!!!

LET LOVE RULE!!!
Today hubby and I have been married 6 years! Hard to believe - we've actually been together for 11 years, 6 of em married.

What you ask are we doing on this lovely day?

We are digging up our "F"n septic system. Fun. It's been in need of repair and our neighbor has offered to help us out w/it so we now have rented a backhoe $500, had our tank pumped $175, had some fresh gravel delivered $500, and hubby is currently off spending at least another $500 getting all the pipe fittings we'll need to finish the job. My poor checkbook is crying!

We've been on vacation all week and thankfully spent the first part of the week doing some relaxin & fishin' on the Red River w/out our kiddos. Then we came home on Monday afternoon and started the hard labor. So far this week we've trimmed bushes & trees on our property, mowed the lawn - front and back, repaired some broken boards on our deck, powerwashed/bleached the front of the house, yanked out a built in cabinet in our living room to refinish, and now I'm about to go out and weedeat and spray week killer so that we can shovel mulch into all the flower beds tomorrow. We are indeed getting a lot done - I think hubby is wanting this week to hurry up and be over so that he can go back to work and rest! Oh.... also later today we are having some furniture delivered that came from my mom - so we will prob be rearranging rooms later. Whew!

I got some flowers for Mother's Day/Anniversary, but failed to take a picture of them so here is a photo as a tribute to many wonderful and thoughtful arrangements my wonderful hubby has sent me in the past. Glads, as he knows, are my favorite!

Dream a little Dream.......

Was sifting through some photos today and found these shots that I took while in Cancun. This was such a fun trip! One of my best girlfriends and I had just had babies at the same time and so 8 months later we planned a weekend getaway to the beach. We slept in late, drank lots of frozen drinks, ate like queens, and layed by the pool and on the beach all day. Both of us love to "people watch" so we had a great time doing absolutly nothing! We stayed at the RIU hotel - it's a brand new wonderful all inclusive resort and I often DREAM of going back. It's a rainy cool day here today and so these tropical sunny pictures sent me off into la-la land for a few minutes.

Mother's Day is May 14th

Mom's are special each in their own way. They come in all shapes and sizes and they all "mother" in different ways but each mom is a gift - for without them we might not be who we are today.
My mom is one amazing gal. I've included a few photos of her here on this page. The beauty queen photo was in 1963 - high school , I believe. The Christmas photo was taken sometime in the 1980's and the photo of me and her on my wedding day was in May of 2000. She still looks so beautiful and I hope that both my sister and I will age as gracefully as she has. She is one "hot momma" in my book!
Happy Mother's Day, Mom! I love you!

Funny?

Funny Ha- Ha or just Funny?
What kinda funny are you?

Found this via surfing into another blog today and thought worth sharing. Took the little test laughed out loud several times. Didn't really have any idea that I was that sinister in the humor area. Take it yourself and find out what you are!

I am the Shock Jock

(52% dark, 61% spontaneous, 63% vulgar)

your humor style:VULGAR SPONTANEOUS DARKYour sense of humor is off-the-cuff and kind of gross. Is it is also sinister, cynical, and vaguely threatening to the purer folks of this world. You probably get off on that. You would cut a greasy fart, then blame it on your mom, and then just shrug when someone pointed out that she's dead. Yours is hands-down the most outrageous sense of humor; you like things trangressive and hardcore. It's highly likely (a) you have no limits (b) you have no scruples and (c) you have no job. Ironically, it's your type of humor that can make the biggest bucks in show business. PEOPLE LIKE YOU: Howard Stern - Adam Sandler - Roseanne Barr
The 3-Variable Funny Test!

The test tracked 3 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender:

You scored higher than 49% on darkness

You scored higher than 87% on spontaneity

You scored higher than 92% on vulgarity

A Little Bit of Nature

Quack Quack Quack...don't look back!
I took all these photos last week.
Mr Frog:
The frog I found by accident. I was cleaning up some things on the deck and had dumped all my trash and flower clippings into an old plastic bucket to carry around to the trash. When I got ready to toss the bucket this little frog hopped out on top, as if to say, "hey lady - you're messin with my home here!" I picked him up and placed him on the branch of one of our crepe myrtle trees. He took up residence there all day and so late in the afternoon I decided to snap a picture of him.
The Rose:
The rose just fascinated me. D and I were enjoying a cool morning, drinking coffee of the deck when I leaned over to look at all the roses that were blooming on one of our bushes. They were still wet with dew that morning and looked almost like they were iced. I couldn't resist a shot of this one that had a "perfect" bud and was still tightly curled.
The Ducks:
The ducks live behind us on the horse pond. There are five of them and at any given time each day you can usually look out back and see them waddling around by the horses or up and down our neighbor's gravel road. They always stick together - all five and they live there year round - during cold weather they just take up residence in the stables and nest in the hay enclosure. On this particular rainy day the kids and I returned from running some errands and found them waddling around in our flower bed by the garage. Have no idea how they made it all the way from the pond, past the stables and then turned the corner around the fence and down to our driveway but they did. JT and I chased them around and tried to feed em but they were just busy on trying to find their way back to the pond. We finally had to get Cuba (on a leash of course) to fuss at em and chase back up the drive and back around the corner. We haven't seen em over here since!
